5 days Rwanda safari in kagera national park

This 5 Days Akagera wildlife safari itinerary will take place in Rwanda; arriving and departing via Kigali International Airport. You will akagera national park and enjoy game drives, a boat ride on Lake Ihema and visit a local community neighboring the park.

Day 1: ARRIVAL

After you arrive Kigali International Airport, clear with immigration and proceed to the arrivals where you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: KIGALI – DRIVE TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast at the hotel, along with your driver guide depart Kigali for Akagera National Park. Check in and have lunch. Enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 3: FULL DAY AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

On this day after breakfast, you will proceed for a boat ride on Lake Ihema and have a chance to visit an Island which inhabits a variety of bird species. After lunch you will enjoy a game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 4: MORNING COMMUNITY VISIT AND EVENING GAME DRIVE

After a leisurely breakfast at your Lodge proceed for a morning community visit. During this tour you will experience the basic lives of the community living around this park. You will learn their culture, practices and how they go about their normal daily activities. After lunch at the Lodge you will have an evening game drive in the park.

Day 5: DEPARTURE

After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, you will be assisted with checking out; then you will start your drive to Kigali International Airport to catch your departure international flight.

Our group was driven around by Derrick. He was an excellent driver, very careful, and took great care. He would ensure that we were all sitted and he closed the doors before setting off. Me and my friends went to Murchison Falls with Dominic for 3 days and had the most amazing time! Dominic was such a wonderful guide, always telling us about all the animals and answered all the 1000 questions I asked him! He was always attentive and curious, and looked like he was having the best time with us as well :) could not recommend him enough as guide! Will definitely be back to Uganda soon and book a safari with Dominic again!!!

We did a 4 day safari, which included Queen elisabeth park, chimp hike and lake mburo park. Everything from the activities to accommodations were great and Dominic is a fantastic guide, so I will definitely choose then again when I return for gorilla trekking!

We visited Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo, saw an incredible variety of animals, and stayed in some truly amazing accommodations! Our guide Dominic showed us the famous highlights and also took us to hidden gems and breathtaking viewpoints that made us fall even more in love with Uganda. And Dominic is not only a fantastic guide, he is also an excellent photographer! :) One of my personal highlights was the walking safari in Lake Mburo. Being able to experience the wildlife on foot was something really special and completely different from a game drive. We hope to have the chance to travel with Lena Tours again in the future. There is still so much more to discover, and we would love to come back for another adventure!
